Paddle Boarding with Whales in The Sea Of Cortez, Baja, Mexico

 

SEA OF CORTEZ, Baja - Join SURFit Adventures for a stand up paddleboard adventure in the Sea of Cortez, Baja from November 1-6th, 2013.  This trip is perfect for beginning paddlers who want to see unique wildlife up close and is also perfect for serious paddlers who want to get out for long paddles and downwind runs. 

The Sea of Cortez has been called “the worlds aquarium” and boasts over 900 species of fish and over 2000 invertebrate species.    One of the highlights of this trip will be the opportunity to paddle with gentle whale sharks and other marine mammals.  The area is home to blue whales, grey whales, sperm whales, bottlenose dolphins, rays, sea turtles and sea lions.  Grey whales have been known to be so curious that they will swim right up to paddlers.  Whale sharks, which can be up to 65 feet long, feed on algae and plankton and are often spotted while paddling.  These gentle giants will be an amazing sight to see.

We will be staying at the highly recommended, “Palapas Ventana”, 35 minutes southeast of La Paz overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

The group is limited to ten participants and all ages and abilities are welcome.  We will tailor the adventure based on the skill levels of the paddlers.  We are certain everyone will come back a more confident paddler.
