With near-perfect weather and racing conditions, Germany's Sonni Hönscheid and Michael Booth of Australia successfully defended their championships in the punishing 21-kilometer Graveyard Race at Carolina Cup in Wrightsville Beach. Both plan to go for three in a row in 2020.

South End Surf Shop proudly announces the Salt Life Carolina Pro-Am to be held on April 20-21, 2019 at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Olympic Gold Medalist Returns To North Carolina Surf to Sound Challenge

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC – Larry Cain is a paddle monster. At age 21, Cain captured the Gold medal in sprint canoe for Canada in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic games. Today, at age 54, Cain is three-time and reigning standup paddleboard champion in the 31-mile Tennessee River Chattajack, and winner of four of the past six titles in the elite 6.5-mile North Carolina Surf to Sound Challenge.

The Carolina Cup has consistently been a major paddle boarding event that attracts both elite and amateur athletes from around the globe.
