Boardworks Joy Ride Flow 9'11 Review

The turquoise color and bamboo combination really sets this board apart from other recreational boards on the market. The turquoise color and bamboo combination really sets this board apart from other recreational boards on the market.

MOAB, Utah - I’ve had the 9’11 Joyride flow for about 6 months now, and I thought I’d take some time and write about how awesome this board is. I had this board sent to Las Vegas last November for a commercial photo shoot and immediately got complements about the boards design and color flare. My first voyage of this board was balancing on blocks of memory foam in a stage of green. It was the perfect platform to be creative for arm balances, acro yoga, and fitness workouts.

After the photo shoot, I packed up the board and headed back to my home in Moab Utah. I couldn’t wait to get the board out on the muddy waters of the Colorado River with it’s drastic red rock background, blue skies, and sparse vegetation.

Loading this board is pretty easy. It has a comfortable carrying handle that pops out, and is light enough to transfer and carry above the head or by your side. This board stacks well on top of a car or in the back of a trailer offering easy storage and transport.

This board stands out well above the average board.

Immediately, this board stands out well above the average board. The turquoise color and bamboo combination really sets this board apart from other recreational boards on the market. It’s stability and yoga mat style pad offers the perfect conditions for floating yoga and fitness…my specialty. The Joyride Flow is also a great board for recreational surfing, paddling around a bay, or lounging around a lake with your kids and pets. It has tie downs in the front for gear storage and a leash plug in the back so you stay connected to your board.

I love the Joyride flow because of it’s performance on the water, especially the river. It allows me to be creative in my fitness workouts and yoga flows because of its shape and stability. I can go for an hour paddle, throw in some burpees, squats, or crunches for fitness and some down dogs, backbends or headstands for yoga and get an all around workout on one board. That’s pretty convenient!

I would recommend this board to anyone looking to get out on the water more. Because of it’s stability that I’ve mentioned several times, it offers a perfect foundation for a wide variety of people. Not to mention the way it stands out amongst the rest with the bamboo construction and the beautifully designed turquoise pad. Check out Boardworks website for more information on this board and all the other great boards they offer.

Here’s a great video of my teammate and friend Jessica Cichra in her element showing off the Joyride Flow’s performance during a unique and challenging yoga flow.
