5. The Mistral 'Red Dot' Series

The New RED DOT SUPs from Mistral are the perfect SUP for the first time paddler and are ideal for SUP schools and rental centers. This particular family of boards was developed and designed for cruising, riding small waves, and cross training. The ultra stable volume packed shape of the Red Dots was intended to be an entry level SUP that a the new paddler wouldn't outgrow as they become a more skilled intermediate paddler.

4. New Boardworks Athletes

Boardworks Surf is excited to announce the addition of 4 new Boardworks Team athletes to the family for 2014 in Florida. Boardworks has had a presence in Florida since the beginning of the SUP days and will now be expanding our crew to make a larger impact in one of the greatest places to paddle year round in the US.

3. SUP Yoga World record

Last Saturday (March 22), Outside Hilton Head hosted ‘YogiboardHHI,’ a world record setting attempt for the largest in-water yoga class on stand-up paddleboards. The event drew 103 enthusiasts of all experience levels who participated in the class led by local fitness professional Amber Shadwick. The participants successfully set the record, which was recorded and verified by Record Setter. Funds totaling $1,400 were collected for admission and equipment rental for the event, all of which was donated to The Outside Foundation.

1. Surftech Shootout

Catch all the action from the final day of the Santa Cruz Paddle Fest and the Surftech Shootout, which ran in epic conditions  on Sunday, March 30. Supconnect was there on Sunday, recording the action with Joe from SUP The Mag and Chis Hollingsworth on the mic.
