Exclusive SUP Guided Tour Being Offered In New Zealand

paddle wanaka 1WANAKA, New Zealand - Local Wanaka activity provider Paddle Wanaka have come up with a first for NZ, if not the world, with their exclusive guided Stand up Paddle (SUP) boarding trip on a remote mountain lake, located within the spectacular Southern Alps region of New Zealand. Getting to the remote spectacular location, takes in a spectacular 40 minute helicopter flight each way, getting you up close and personal with Titea (Mt Aspiring), and remote glaciers along the way.

Once at the secluded mountain lake, 1000m high above sea level, participants explore the pristine area, fully guided by a qualified and experienced SUP instructor, before relaxing on the shoreline with a decadent gourmet picnic, to soak up the beautiful surrounds. Being adventurous explorers themselves, Paddle Wanaka Directors, Bex and Chris Thornton are always searching for an epic mission.

“When we discovered this particular area on the fringe of the Southern Alps we thought how amazing it would be to explore it. Then the idea was born and what an amazing adventure it has become. I believe we are the first to come up with this concept. Just to visit a location like this and to have the opportunity to SUP in this alpine environment is special and very unique” said, Bex Thornton Co-Director, Paddle Wanaka.

SUP is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world and Paddle Wanaka have been offering a variety of SUP activities, alongside their guided kayaking trips in the Wanaka region for over 3 years.
